Keep Kids Reading during summer break to practice important decoding, fluency, and comprehension skills. Research shows children who practice reading during summer break have an easier time transitioning back to school in the fall. There are many ways to keep children engaged in learning during summer break. Here are some tips to keep your children engaged in reading this summer:

-Join the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program link.

-Visit a Barnes & Noble on Saturday mornings for storytime.

-Check out the Public Library Summer Reading Program link.

-Play Sight Word Games with Play-Doh link.

-Color pages of their favorite book characters.

-Play "what if" the character did something different game.

-Make little word blend books like /gr/ words (great, grape, grass).

-Read my Mermaid & Pirate books and try the free learning activities link.
